R&D Department Lead

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to create products, systems, services, or technologies for ABB's business units. Each day, you will facilitate the end-to-end execution of one or more Research and Development projects. You will also showcase your expertise by achieving associated milestones, targets, and desired outcomes. The work model for the role is: #LI-OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Electrification business in Distribution Solution division at Nashik, India. You will be mainly accountable for:
• Developing or creating products, systems, services or technologies for ABB´s Business Units by leading and managing the execution of one or more R&D projects to meet project targets.
• Coordinating work of local and cross-functional project teams. Leading in partnership with Local/Global business managers, steering groups, product management and external parties and ensuring value creation.
• Serving as the key contact for the project stakeholders. Effectively communicating appropriate information to stakeholders in a timely manner and to achieve desired understanding and support.
• Managing the project team allocated to the project, defining, with key stakeholders, the scope of work, cost/budget, resources required, time schedule and detailed work allocation
• Developing a comprehensive testing plan outlining objectives, scope, timeline and resources. Identifying potential risks associated with type testing and develop mitigation strategies. Analyzing testing data and compile reports summarizing findings, issues, and recommendations.Our team dynamicsYou will join a high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role
  • You are immersed in R&D Project Management function in switchgear industry
  • You have 10 to 15 years of experience in project planning, product cost calculation, project budgeting & forecasting, overseeing the timely completion of various projects, planning typetesting, analyzing the failures in typetesting & cross functional collaboration
  • Possess an basic knowledge of CAD (Pro-E, Solidworks)
  • Degree in Electrical / Mechanical engineering
  • You are at ease communicating in English
