Senior Engineer - QA Location: Pune The Senior QA is responsible for designing, developing, and executing manual and automated test cases while collaborating with teams to meet business and technical requirements ensuring high-quality software delivery. This role involves identifying defects, analyzing issues, improving testing processes, and contributing to overall product quality. Key Responsibilities : Test Planning and Execution : Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios to validate software functionality, usability, and performance. Defect Management : Identify, log, track, and report software defects, ensuring timely resolution by collaborating with development teams. Quality Standards : Ensure compliance with quality assurance processes, guidelines, and best practices throughout the SDLC. Requirement Analysis : Review and analyze business requirements, technical specifications, and use cases to develop robust testing strategies. Automation : Utilize testing tools to execute automated and manual tests when appropriate, ensuring efficiency in the testing lifecycle. Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to deliver high-quality products. Risk Assessment : Evaluate potential risks, prioritize test efforts, and assess impact to ensure reliability of software products. Documentation : Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of test cases, test results, and QA processes. Report clearly on the product quality. Client Engagement: Engage and communicate directly with client stakeholders for joint platform testing projects where applicable. Key Skills and Qualifications : Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Minimum 5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance including at least 1+ years working with an automation tool. Experience in programming languages, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is preferred but not required. Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and Test Management tools is preferred. Experience in testing REST APIs and microservices and familiarity with tools such as Postman. Experience in designing, executing and reporting performance test cases. Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
