Job Title: AVP – Assurance, Laws, Rules & Regulations

Location: Noida & Pune (Onsite, 5 days/week)

Open Positions: 2 (Noida) & 1 (Pune)

Relocation Assistance: Not Available

Notice Period: 30/60/90 Days

Experience: 7–9 Years

Industry: Any (experience in any line of defense acceptable if relevant)

Role Purpose

To assess and enhance the integrity and effectiveness of the organisation's internal control framework, mitigating operational, financial, and reputational risks, with a strong focus on Laws, Rules & Regulations (LRR) compliance and Risk & Controls assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide independent assurance on the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls in line with policies, standards, and LRR.
  • Conduct control testing and assessments, identifying weaknesses and recommending improvements.
  • Develop test plans and procedures to evaluate control effectiveness.
  • Communicate findings to stakeholders, recommending corrective actions and collaborating to resolve complex issues.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of control assessments and testing outcomes.
  • Lead a team or individual assignments, influencing decision-making and contributing to policy development.
  • Advise stakeholders on risk mitigation and governance enhancements.
  • Engage in data analysis from multiple sources to support findings.
  • Ensure timely execution of reviews within scope and budget.

Core Skills & Requirements (Essential)

  • Strong Risk & Controls experience – particularly in banking/financial services.
  • Expertise in Laws, Rules & Regulations (LRR) – compliance and framework evaluation.
  • Control Assurance – experience in control design and operating effectiveness testing.
  • Regulatory Compliance Knowledge – understanding of operational risks and adherence requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management – proven ability to influence and present findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – issue resolution and data-driven insights.
  • Project & Change Management skills.
  • Data Analytics – hands-on with SQL/Python or similar tools for testing and validation.
  • Professional Qualifications – CA, MBA, ACCA, or equivalent; relevant certifications in audit, risk, or control.

Desirable Skills / Good to Have

  • Certifications in Laws applicable to banking across geographies.
  • Experience with LRR related to market risk (US, UK geographies preferred).
  • Knowledge of global financial regulatory environments.
  • Experience in Operational Risk & Market Risk frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMI).
  • Ability to consolidate data from multiple sources into actionable insights.
  • Experience working in a regulatory and control environment with multiple global stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and ability to multitask.
