Overview :

The Infrastructure Network Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the organization's network infrastructure operates efficiently, securely, and effectively.

As part of the IT team, the engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting network solutions that support the company's operational goals. This position is essential in minimizing downtime, optimizing network performance, and safeguarding data integrity against unauthorized access.

The Infrastructure Network Engineer collaborates with various departments to understand their networking needs and recommends the most suitable technologies and strategies. With ever-evolving cybersecurity threats, this role also focuses on implementing robust security measures to protect enterprise networks.

The ideal candidate possesses not only substantial technical expertise but also a proactive mindset, enabling them to foresee potential issues and address them before they escalate. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, as the engineer will often serve as a bridge between technical teams and organizational stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement network solutions based on organizational needs.

- Monitor network performance and conduct routine tests to ensure optimal functionality.

- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues swiftly to minimize downtime.

- Configure and manage routing and switching protocols.

- Implement and maintain network security policies and protocols.

- Install and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and other network security devices.

- Collaborate with software developers and system architects to optimize application performance.

- Document network configurations, processes, and systems to ensure information availability.

- Provide technical support and training for users to enhance network usage and efficacy.

- Conduct network capacity planning and forecasting to ensure scalability.

- Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and trends to recommend improvements.

- Develop disaster recovery plans and ensure network redundancy.

- Engage in regular audits and assessments of network security measures.

- Assist in budgeting and purchasing decisions related to networking equipment and services.

- Work with vendors and service providers to implement third-party solutions.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or a similar role.

- Proven experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).

- Extensive knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

- Hands-on experience with configuration and troubleshooting network security devices.

- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are preferred.

- Experience with cloud networking solutions (AWS, Azure) is a plus.

- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and methodologies.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) is advantageous.

- Understanding of compliance and regulatory standards affecting network infrastructure.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

- Aptitude for staying current with technological advancements and industry trends.

- Proactive and self-motivated attitude towards project completion and personal development.
