Assistant Manager / Manager – Sales (Solar Projects)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager / Manager – Sales (Solar Projects) to drive business development, client acquisition, and relationship management within the solar energy sector. The role involves working closely with management, technical teams, and project teams to ensure effective lead generation, proposal preparation, client engagement, and successful execution of solar projects. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in solar project sales, strong communication skills, and a passion for renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and execute sales strategies for solar projects in line with company objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify potential leads and opportunities.
- Build strong networks with key decision-makers across government, commercial, and industrial sectors.
- Deliver impactful sales presentations explaining solar energy solutions.
2. Proposal & Contract Management
- Assist in preparing accurate technical and financial proposals.
- Collaborate with technical teams to define project scope and cost estimates.
- Support contract negotiations and finalize agreements with clients.
3. Client Relationship Management
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships through regular communication and post-sales support.
- Address client queries and resolve project-related issues.
- Ensure client satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling additional services.
4. Project Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Track project progress against timelines and budgets while aligning with client expectations.
- Monitor performance of completed projects and suggest areas for improvement.
5. Sales Reporting & Forecasting
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, and client interactions.
- Provide periodic sales reports and forecasts to the Sales Head.
- Analyse sales data to identify patterns and improve strategies.
6. Industry Knowledge & Networking
- Stay updated on solar technology, government policies, and renewable energy trends.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Any Graduate / BE / B.Tech (MBA preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of total experience with at least 2–3 years in solar/renewable energy project sales.
- Must have successfully executed a solar project of at least 500 kW (rooftop or ground-mounted).
- Candidates from open access projects, channel sales, or inside sales will not be considered.
- Candidates who have been validated/interviewed in the past 6 months should not be sourced.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of solar energy products, systems, and solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and sales reporting software.
- Ability to interpret technical data and present solutions clearly to clients.
Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team
