Role: Associate Private Equity Fund Accounting Services

Purpose:

  • Manage client onboarding and project execution for SGA's rapidly expanding PE business.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders for seamless delivery and drive successful projects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Calculate returns based on management fees, carry rates, performance fees, interest income from debt investments, and fund expenses.
  2. Maintain books and records, and calculate fund Net Asset Values.
  3. Review and/or calculate carried interest/performance/incentive fees.
  4. Review and/or prepare Capital Call memos, LC Opening, and follow up with LPs for funding.
  5. Distribution, process accounting transactions in an accurate and timely manner using transaction definitions while understanding their purpose and requirements.
  6. Assist in reconciling account balances, including bank recs.
  7. Review and/or prepare financial statements and associated reports, including performance metrics.
  8. Complete draft of quarterly financials formatting and supporting schedule reconciliations.
  9. Review and/or prepare Distribution working, LP Memo, Fund Transfer Wire, and Repayment of LCs.
  10. Reconcile, track and report cash, post entries, track of capital.
  11. Coordinate and/or process payments and other transactions.
  12. Monitor transactions of the Funds to ensure all transactions and processes are in accordance with the LPA and facility agreements.
  13. Act as a primary day-to-day contact with clients and other fund participants.
  14. Work closely with the Investor Relations team to respond to investor queries and to disseminate capital activity and other investor notices.
  15. Identify and escalate any material issues affecting service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in accounting qualification CA, CPA, ACCA or similar.
  • Minimum of 5 - 10 years experience in fund accounting, particularly to Private Equity/ Venture Capital Funds and Fund of Funds.
  • Working knowledge of accounting and reporting software for Private Equity funds (e.g. Investran and EFront) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in Limited Partnership accounting.
  • Private equity fund administration experience.
  • Experienced in reviewing and preparing general ledger and financial statements.
  • Proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
  • Motivated, bright and diligent individual who is driven to meet deadlines.
  • A team player who can manage individual responsibilities.
  • Sound judgment, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
