Location: Mumbai (On-site)About the RoleWe’re seeking a Packaging Sourcing & Development Manager with deep expertise in cosmetic and skincare packaging — from concept to commercialization. This role sits at the intersection of design, engineering, and sourcing, ensuring every jar, bottle, pump, and carton reflects premium beauty aesthetics, technical precision, and brand luxury. If you’ve worked on beauty, personal care, or luxury skincare brands, managed vendors across India and Asia, and can turn creative packaging concepts into scalable, production-ready solutions — this is for you.Key Responsibilities1. Packaging Development & InnovationLead end-to-end packaging development for skincare, haircare, and beauty categories — primary, secondary, and tertiary.Translate design briefs into technical packaging drawings (KLDs), ensuring brand aesthetic aligns with functionality and manufacturability.Develop and validate luxury finishes like frosted glass, metallization, soft-touch lamination, embossing, and airless systems.Collaborate with NPD and Marketing to introduce packaging that enhances brand storytelling and consumer experience.2. Vendor Sourcing & Ecosystem BuildingIdentify and onboard specialized cosmetic packaging vendors for bottles, pumps, droppers, jars, caps, tubes, mono cartons, and labels.Build a premium vendor network across India, China, Thailand, and Italy.Conduct factory audits, material trials, and pre-production tests to ensure global standards.Develop long-term partnerships with strategic vendors for innovation and cost efficiency.3. Procurement & CommercialsNegotiate pricing, MOQs, tooling, and lead times to optimize COGS while maintaining luxury quality.Manage annual procurement budgets and track packaging cost savings without aesthetic compromise.Handle new mold developments, tooling trials, and timeline coordination with vendors and R&D.4. Technical Validation & QualityEnsure compatibility between formulation and packaging materials (PET, HDPE, PP, Glass, Acrylic, Aluminum, Coex).Oversee stability, leak, and transit testing in collaboration with QA and vendors.Validate vendor compliance with ISO, GMP, FDA, and sustainability standards.Maintain detailed specifications, shade cards, BOMs, and approval protocols for all components.5. Sustainability & Material InnovationDrive adoption of eco-friendly materials — PCR plastics, biodegradable tubes, bamboo, glass, aluminum, and refill systems.Evaluate recyclability, biodegradability, and carbon footprint of existing packaging lines.Stay ahead of clean beauty and sustainable packaging trends in global markets.6. Cross-functional CollaborationWork closely with Design, Marketing, NPD, QA, and Supply Chain to ensure on-time delivery of new launches.Partner with creative agencies and printers for artwork, proofs, and prepress quality control.Manage samples, approvals, production timelines, and coordinate imports when required.Candidate Requirements4–10 years of experience in Packaging Development / Procurement within Cosmetics, Skincare, or Personal Care.Diploma or PG in Packaging Technology (IIP, SIES, or equivalent) preferred.Strong vendor network for cosmetic packaging materials (India & international).Sound knowledge of molding, printing, metallizing, lacquering, labeling, and carton finishing.Proven ability to manage multiple NPD launches with strict timelines.Passion for luxury packaging, sustainability, and detail-oriented design.Why Join UsBuild the next generation of premium beauty packaging from India.Collaborate with top creative and R&D teams across categories.Be part of a brand redefining modern luxury, sustainability, and design precision.
