We are looking for an experienced L3 VMware NSX Engineer to join Payoda on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of hands-on experience in VMware NSX, networking, and virtualization technologies.

As an L3 VMware NSX Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting VMware NSX environments and ensuring optimal network performance. The role requires expertise in NSX-T, NSX-V, and network security, and involves troubleshooting, performance tuning, and working with advanced VMware NSX technologies.

This is a remote position with a permanent contract with Payoda, and we are offering a competitive salary range based on your experience.

Key Responsibilities :

NSX Architecture & Design : Design, implement, and manage VMware NSX architectures, ensuring scalability, availability, and high performance.

Advanced Troubleshooting : Handle complex issues related to VMware NSX, including networking, security, and integration problems.

Network Security : Implement and configure NSX Distributed Firewall, Edge Services Gateway, and VPNs for enhanced network security and segmentation.

NSX-T and NSX-V Management : Strong hands-on experience in NSX-T and NSX-V environments, including design, configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades.

Automation : Automate NSX network functions using scripting tools like PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.

Cloud Integration : Work on integrating VMware NSX with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid cloud solutions.

Performance Optimization : Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot network performance, ensuring that NSX components are operating efficiently and optimally.

Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.

Collaboration : Work closely with other network engineers, system administrators, and stakeholders to ensure seamless network design and operations.

Incident Management : Participate in the support process for handling critical incidents, ensuring root cause analysis and resolution in a timely manner.

Version Upgrades & Patching : Handle upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management for NSX components to maintain high availability and security.

Required Skills and Experience :

VMware NSX Expertise : Extensive experience with VMware NSX (NSX-V and NSX-T), including advanced configurations and management.

Network Virtualization : Solid understanding of network virtualization concepts, SDN (Software-Defined Networking), and network security.

Networking Protocols : Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, VRF, VXLAN, QOS, and other networking protocols.

Firewall & Security : Experience with distributed firewalls, micro-segmentation, and VPN technologies (site-to-site and client-to-site).

Automation & Scripting : Familiarity with automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or similar for automating network and NSX tasks.

Cloud Platforms : Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and integration of VMware NSX with cloud environments.

Troubleshooting : Expertise in troubleshooting VMware NSX environments, network connectivity, and performance issues.

VMware vSphere : Strong experience with VMware vSphere and vCenter for managing virtualized environments.

Certifications : VMware NSX certification (e.g., VCP-NV, VCDX-NV) is highly desirable.

Monitoring Tools : Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, vRealize Operations).

Desirable Skills :

Hybrid Cloud Solutions : Familiarity with hybrid cloud networking and cloud-based SDN architectures.

Container Networking : Experience with Kubernetes and container networking in NSX environments.

Disaster Recovery : Understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies in virtualized network environments.
