Overview

Our group is responsible for the Linux operating systems that power Azure – from VMs and containers, to bare metal, and silicon – in the cloud and at the edge. We work closely with upstream communities, with software and hardware vendors, OEMs, Linux distribution partners, and with hundreds of customers inside and outside Microsoft to create and operate OS platforms and products with the highest security, hardware-accelerated performance, and innovation agility.You will be part of IDC Linux PM team - this team is accountable for working with Microsoft teams in APAC on Azure Linux adoption, for growing the external utilization of Azure Linux with AKS, for kickstarting local Linux communities, and for enabling global operations for all our Linux programs. In this role, you will work closely with engineering leaders, with hardware/software architects, with upstream project leaders, with major IHVs, security and incident response. The person will also be responsible for overseeing the performance of Azure Linux. Qualifications

Required qualifications :

Knowledge, experience and skills required: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required. Minimum of 6+ years' experience in a software development leader or program manager role managing multiple software projects concurrently Adaptive communication – in verbal and written form; with peers, executives and engineers. 2+ years of experience working with global teams in different time zones. 2+ years of experience working with Linux in production environments

Preferred qualifications :

Experience with performance analytics, benchmarking concepts and tooling. - more directly calling out the perf nature of the role. Proven ability to drive large scale projects with high collaboration and leadership Excellent written and oral communications Excellent judgment, decision making skills, and the ability to work under continual deadline pressure Excellent presentation skills and experience of presenting to senior management Depth knowledge across PM Methodologies (e.g., DevOps, Iterative, Waterfall, SCRUM, XP, PMI, Agile)

Responsibilities

Project scope definition and planning through delivery of assigned product and related product releasesEnsure the oversight and coordination of dependencies across the project and resolve or escalate conflictsProvide customer input represented in both technical and business terms with descriptive requirements to ensure the value of the project is realizedDeliver, document, and circulate an end-to-end plan, including activity, dependencies, timing, and ownership.
