Job Description:

Enfinity Global is looking for a Senior Design Engineer – PV Electrical with more than 5 years of experience, who will be responsible for supporting the electrical design and engineering of utility-scale solar PV systems (5 MW to 500 MW+) for projects in the United States.

The candidate should have solid knowledge of electrical engineering principles with a strong focus on solar photovoltaic (PV) design, utility-scale layout development, electrical calculations, and permitting deliverables. This role is hands-on, focused on execution and design documentation.

The engineer will collaborate with US-based project managers, interconnection specialists, and procurement teams to deliver compliant, optimized, and constructible electrical design packages.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare utility-scale PV system electrical designs, including SLDs, three-line diagrams, cable schedules, and equipment layouts using AutoCAD and other design tools.
  • Perform detailed electrical calculations such as string sizing, voltage drop, short circuit analysis, and inverter/load ratio validation.
  • Support the preparation of permit packages, construction drawing sets, and bill of materials.
  • Execute energy yield simulations using PVSyst and prepare technical reports and documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable US standards such as NEC, IEEE, NESC, and utility interconnection guidelines.
  • Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams (civil, structural, interconnection, procurement) to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Collaborate with US engineering counterparts for design review, redline updates, QA/QC, and documentation tracking.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in PV electrical design, preferably for utility-scale solar projects.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and UL standards.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, and MS Office tools.
  • Experience with PVCASE is a plus.
  • Familiarity with US utility-scale design workflows and expectations.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Highly organized, attention to detail, with ability to manage multiple project deliverables.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Self-driven with a hands-on, problem-solving attitude.
