Job Summary

We are seeking an innovative Data Scientist to join our SmartFM product team. In this role, you will play a key part in transforming complex operational data into actionable insights using advanced machine learning, deep learning, agentic workflows, and Large Language Models (LLMs). Your contributions will help optimize building operations and enhance facility efficiency through intelligent recommendations and predictive analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large and complex datasets from building devices (alarms, sensors, notifications) to uncover patterns and operational inefficiencies.
  • Design, develop, and deploy ML and deep learning models for equipment failure prediction, energy optimization, and anomaly detection.
  • Implement agentic workflows to automate decision-making based on real-time data.
  • Leverage LLMs to interpret unstructured data such as technician notes and maintenance logs.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure clean, structured, and optimized data pipelines for ML use cases.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve deployed models through retraining and performance monitoring.
  • Clearly communicate findings and model insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date on advancements in ML, AI, Agentic AI, and LLMs to recommend practical applications.
  • Contribute to the strategic roadmap of AI/ML features within the SmartFM product ecosystem.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Data Science or ML Engineering.
  • Strong command of Python and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch.
  • Proven record of building ML models for predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and classification.
  • Experience with deep learning for time series, pattern recognition, or NLP.
  • Practical knowledge of agentic workflows and intelligent automation.
  • Experience working with LLMs – including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or integrating APIs.
  • Solid foundation in statistics, A/B testing, and experimental design.
  • Experience with MongoDB and Kafka for querying and handling streaming data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), able to explain complex topics clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a passion for innovation.
  • Collaborative team player experienced in cross-functional teams (engineering, product, etc.)
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying ahead of AI/ML trends.
  • Domain experience in facility management, IoT, or building automation is a plus.

Educational Background

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
