As Capitalmind Asset Management Private Limited, we manage the Capitalmind Mutual fund and have been seeded with capital from its parent and sponsor company Capitalmind Financial Services Private Limited. The company has launched its first mutual fund schemes for retail investors, HNIs and corporates alike, to help these investors meet their long-term financial goals. We have a well-rounded management team, with senior personnel in fund management, compliance, risk, marketing, investor servicing and operations.

About the role:

As one of the first engineering hires, you will play a key role in shaping our technology stack and infrastructure. You will work closely with investment, operations, and compliance teams to build tools and systems critical to our workflows. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a new environment, enjoys solving challenging problems, and is looking to grow with the company. As we build out our operations and product stack, we are looking for passionate technologists to be part of our early team.

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
  • 3-6 years of experience in Backend software development.
  • Proficiency in at least one backend programming language: Java, Python , or Golang (experience in multiple is a plus).
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript is desirable
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services is desired.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • A product mindset – willing to understand and support real business needs.
  • Exposure to finance, trading systems, or data platforms is a desired but not required.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design and build robust, scalable backend systems to support internal operations and client-facing applications.
  • Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS , including services like EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, and IAM.
  • Integrate third-party vendors for data feeds, and operational tooling.
  • Set up deployment pipelines and automate infrastructure using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Ensure security, logging, and observability best practices are embedded in systems from day one
