Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a high-performing physical design team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, empowering their professional development and technical growth
  • Define clear vision, set strategic direction, and motivate the team to achieve ambitious project goals
  • Champion best practices for physical design and continuously improve the team's efficiency and effectiveness

Technical Expertise:

  • Define and implement the overall physical design strategy for assigned projects, considering performance, power, area, and manufacturability constraints
  • Oversee all stages of physical design flow, including floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis (CTS), routing, and physical verification
  • Ensure adherence to advanced design rules and industry best practices for manufacturability
  • Stay at the forefront of physical design advancements by actively researching and adopting emerging tools and methodologies
  • Collaborate effectively with design, verification, and layout teams to ensure seamless integration throughout the design cycle
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex physical design challenges

Project Management:

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive physical design project plans
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure timely completion within constraints
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the design flow
  • Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions effectively to stakeholders (engineering leadership, product management)
