We are seeking a Sr. Principal Consultant Engineer within our Global Professional Services organization based in Pune, India whose primary responsibility is to provide consulting services to customers as part of our petroleum supply chain team. This position will focus on the deployment of AspenTech's petroleum planning and scheduling solutions to our global Oil and Gas customers. This is a unique position for an exceptional Engineer to work on project implementation working closely with customers using our suite of supply chain solutions to help them operate faster and greener. The Senior Principal Consultant will execute project work from project start to finish and would require travelling to customer locations as needed. Travel for projects could be International.

Your Impact

Gathering customer requirements and translating those into high-level solution designs for Aspen Petroleum supply chain suite of products. Demonstrate strong technical and business knowledge when customer facing to promote our Professional Services capabilities and our best practice methodologies that deliver value. Deliver technical documents such as Functional Specifications, Detailed Design Documents, as well as Site Acceptance Test Documents (or UAT). With your experience in refining economics and optimization, strategic planning, or crude oil trading, you will assist customers in constructing and enhancing models. Streamline their day-to-day workflow and maintenance processes for improved efficiency. Be confident, capable and possess ability to lead technical role on projects. Must be a team player, collaboration is key with AspenTech Project Managers, involving technical to non-technical aspects of the project. Defining and developing Services solutions that meet the needs of our customers. Working with clients to implement the solution (from model development to adding enhancements to meet key business needs). Commissioning the completed models which would require on site monitoring and analysis, and user handholding. Ability to lead and drive the project through completion while working in collaboration with Project Manager and second engineer as well as the customer team members. Business acumen: would participate in commercial proposal development and build relationships with customers through each interaction.  Provide training as needed to customers or facilitate formal training classes in support of CS&T, participate in new version testing to support Product Management team.

What You'll Need

12+ years of work or graduate programs experience implementing supply chain systems in the Oil and Gas industry; Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering BS degree or higher. Experience with implementation of planning and scheduling models for Petroleum Industry using AspenTech Petroleum Supply Chain suit or other 3rd party equivalent solutions. Ability to travel (25% travel on a calendar basis – when travel is required by the customer). Process and economic understanding with minimum of 9-10+ years of professional experience in oil and refinery industries, with an in-depth understanding of crude, gas, NGL and refinery processing units. Technical programming .Net or Javascript background is a plus. Experience with systems integration is nice to have. Experience with working with MS SQL Server or other databases is expected in this role. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Excellent problem-solving skills; have high curiosity to self-motivate; possess growth mindset. Have demonstrated leadership capabilities in previous endeavors; and is a team player. Fluent in English written and verbal. Bi-lingual skills are a big bonus. Experience with Aspen Technology APS or PIMS suite of products is highly favored. #LI-RK1
