Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Fashion Designer to join our menswear design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the end-to-end design process—from research and concept development to final execution—ensuring all designs align with the brand's identity, market trends, and customer expectations. This role requires a deep understanding of menswear, specifically casual shirts, along with strong leadership, creative, and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Trend Research & Concept Development

  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and industry trend forecasting to define seasonal themes.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Head to consolidate insights and finalize the design direction.
  • Ensure alignment with the product team's option brief, MRP guidelines, and customer/buyer inputs.

Design Development & Execution

  • Oversee the exploration of key design elements, including fabric selection, color palettes, fit, patterns, and trims.
  • Mentor designers to create innovative yet commercially viable collections.
  • Work closely with mills and technical teams for textile design inputs and new product development.
  • Provide constructive feedback and approve final designs for sampling.

Sample Development & Product Handover

  • Ensure timely preparation of design dockets and approval of proto-samples with necessary design comments.
  • Facilitate smooth handover of designs to the product team for further development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Market Support

  • Work with Marketing & Visual Merchandising to develop creative packaging concepts and season stories.
  • Support roadshow planning and present collections to key customers when required.
  • Assist the sales team in maintaining a cohesive look and feel across stores and e-commerce platforms.

Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in monthly reviews with the product and buying teams to analyze sell-through data.
  • Incorporate consumer insights into future design strategies to enhance commercial success.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 7-10 years of experience in fashion design, with a strong focus on menswear and casual shirts.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design software for creating sketches and technical drawings.
  • Strong sense of aesthetics, fabric knowledge, and understanding of garment construction.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to mentor designers and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A degree in Fashion Design or a related field is preferred.
