The Opportunity: A Foundational Role in Our Engineering Team This is a unique, high-impact opportunity for a DevOps engineer to take full ownership of our cloud infrastructure. As a standalone role, you will be the driving force behind how we build, deploy, monitor, and maintain our critical services. You will not be a cog in a machine; you will be the architect and operator of the machine itself. With a focus on 70% new projects and automation, you will have the autonomy to build robust, scalable systems from the ground up using modern DevOps and GitOps practices across a multi-cloud environment (Azure and AWS). What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities) Own the Infrastructure: Take full responsibility for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our existing infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. Build with Code: Architect, build, and implement a comprehensive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) framework using Terraform, enabling seamless deployment and management across our multi-cloud environment (Azure and AWS). Champion Observability: Design, implement, and own a centralized monitoring and alerting stack using Prometheus and Grafana. Your goal will be to proactively identify issues, reduce MTTD/MTTR, and drive down production incidents by 50%. Master Kubernetes & CI/CD: Manage and optimize our Kubernetes clusters for performance and security. Build, maintain, and improve our CI/CD pipelines, leveraging Jenkins for builds and ArgoCD for GitOps-based deployments. Automate Everything: Identify manual processes and automate them. Your work will directly improve developer productivity and system reliability. Ensure Reliability & Security: Integrate security best practices into our CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure (DevSecOps). Collaborate with development teams to ensure our microservices and serverless functions are built for scale and resilience. Manage Data Services: Work closely with our application teams to manage and optimize our MongoDB deployments within a cloud-native environment. Who You Are (Qualifications) Required: 3+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering role. Proven expertise with containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, or GKE). Expert-level proficiency with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code. Strong experience building and managing services on both Microsoft Azure and AWS. Hands-on experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and implementing GitOps with ArgoCD. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain monitoring stacks using Prometheus and Grafana. Experience managing MongoDB in a production environment. A proactive problem-solver with a strong sense of ownership over the systems you build and manage. Ability to work autonomously and drive projects from conception to completion in a standalone role. Preferred (Bonus Points): Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Bash for automation. Familiarity with serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions). Knowledge of logging tools like the ELK Stack, Fluentd, or Loki. Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) are a plus.
