Job Scope:

We are seeking experienced WAF Implementation Specialists/Engineers to join our team. You will be responsible for tuning and optimizing Web Application Firewalls (WAF) across a multi-cloud environment, focusing on efficacy testing, rule customization, and false positive reduction. This is a hands-on role, ideal for professionals with real-world experience in Akamai, F5, and cloud-native WAFs from AWS, Azure, or GCP. The goal is to enhance protection mechanisms, validate WAF effectiveness in live environments, and support our internal engineering teams in refining WAF controls. This is a Professional Services role focused on WAF tuning and efficacy, not a platform engineering or infrastructure deployment position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Fine-tune and customize WAF configurations on Akamai and F5 platforms (minimum one of each required).
  • Create and optimize custom WAF rules and OWASP rule sets, with a focus on reducing false positives.
  • Analyze logs and traffic patterns to identify gaps and continuously improve WAF performance.
  • Support tuning of cloud-native WAFs across at least two of the following: AWS, Azure, GCP (no infrastructure deployment required).
  • Collaborate with internal security teams for efficacy testing and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Ensure WAF policies are aligned with real-world attack scenarios and production-like traffic.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in WAF effectiveness and tuning, beyond vendor defaults or documentation.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on experience with Akamai and/or F5 WAF platforms.
  • Experience with cloud-native WAFs in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong skills in rule tuning, false positive analysis, and log-based decision making.
  • Deep understanding of OWASP Top 10 and common web application attack vectors.
  • Solid grasp of cloud security best practices in real-world implementations.
  • Familiarity with CDNs such as Cloudflare or AWS CloudFront.
  • Experience in security efficacy testing, security analytics, or threat modeling.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly.
  • Location: Hybrid (Candidates must be based in Pune or Hyderabad)
  • Work Hours: Regular business hours with required overlap with UK team
