Direct Tax Specialist (Post-CA)

Job Summary:

- We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Direct Tax Specialist with 4.5+ years of post-Chartered Accountant (CA) experience to join our dynamic finance team.

- In this role, you will be responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with direct tax regulations, providing expert advice on tax planning, and handling various tax-related matters.

- The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Indian direct tax laws, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of accurate and timely tax compliance.

- Responsibilities: Direct Tax Compliance: Prepare and file accurate and timely direct tax returns, including income tax, withholding tax, and advance tax.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable direct tax laws and regulations.

- Manage and maintain accurate tax records and documentation.

- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and implement necessary updates.

- Tax Planning and Advisory: Provide expert advice on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax efficiency.

- Analyze financial data and identify tax-saving opportunities.

- Assist in developing and implementing tax-efficient business structures and transactions.

- Provide guidance on tax implications of business decisions.

- Tax Audits and Assessments: Represent the company during tax audits and assessments.

- Prepare and submit responses to tax notices and queries.

- Liaise with tax authorities and external tax consultants.

- Ensure proper documentation and support for tax positions.

- Transfer Pricing: Assist in transfer pricing documentation and compliance.

- Analyze intercompany transactions and ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations.

- Assist in preparing transfer pricing studies and reports.

- Tax Litigation Support: Assist in tax litigation cases, including preparing submissions and representing the company before tax tribunals.

- Research and analyze relevant case laws and tax regulations.

- Assist in developing litigation strategies.

- Tax Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze tax reports and forecasts.

- Provide insights and recommendations on tax-related matters to management.

- Monitor and report on tax risks and opportunities.

- Internal Controls and Process Improvement: Develop and implement internal controls to ensure tax compliance.

- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and efficiency.

- Document and maintain tax-related policies and procedures.

- Training and Development: Stay updated with the latest changes in tax laws and regulations.

- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on tax-related matters.

- Participate in professional development activities to enhance tax knowledge.

Qualifications:

Education:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

- Experience: 4.5+ years of post-CA experience in direct tax.

- Proven experience in handling direct tax compliance, tax planning, and tax audits.

- Experience in transfer pricing and tax litigation is preferred.

- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Indian direct tax laws and regulations.

- Proficiency in tax software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent research and documentation skills.

- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in specific industries (manufacturing, IT, financial services).

- Additional certifications in tax or related fields.

- Experience in international taxation
