The Product & Technology (P&T) Department is a forward-thinking dedicated initiative to transforming our newsroom through the seamless integration of cutting-edge technology and editorial excellence. P&T plays a critical role in driving the evolution of news production by leveraging AI-powered solutions , automation tools, and smart software integrations to optimise workflows and enhance the content generation experience for the editorial staff.

Our department focuses on enabling smarter newsroom operations, using artificial intelligence to automate tasks, enable newsroom to leverage AI & improve content curation. By streamlining processes and connecting systems, we remove bottlenecks and improve collaboration across teams, allowing journalists to focus on delivering timely, high-quality content.

We also aim to enhance audience engagement by developing innovative, AI-driven tools and interactive platforms. Whether it's through personalized recommendations or advanced data analytics, we are constantly working to create deeper connections with our readers across print, digital, and emerging channels.

About the Position

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior QA Engineer to join our team. As a Senior QA Engineer, you will oversee the quality assurance process, lead the testing efforts, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products. You will be responsible for defining and executing testing strategies, leading a team of QA engineers, and driving continuous improvements in the testing process. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manual and automation testing, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of QA methodologies. Your attention to detail and ability to identify potential risks will ensure the success of the product's quality from start to finish.

Areas of Responsibility


• Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies, including functional, UI/UX, regression, and API testing.

• Design and implement both manual and automated test plans and test cases.

• Collaborate with developers, and other teams to understand requirements and ensure full test coverage.

• Review and validate product specifications, ensuring they align with business objectives and customer needs.

• Prioritize testing tasks, manage testing timelines, and ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality.

• Identify testing gaps, analyse issues, and provide solutions to optimize product quality and team efficiency.

• Lead defect tracking, provide detailed reports on testing progress, and communicate critical issues to stakeholders.

• Manage post-release testing, ensuring any bugs or issues are addressed promptly.

• Drive improvements in the QA process, methodologies, and tools, staying current with industry trends.

Educational Qualifications Required


• B.Tech in Computer Science or MCA/BCA from a reputed institute.

Relevant Experience


• 8-10+ years of experience in testing, with a strong focus on automation testing.
Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong expertise in Functional, UI/UX, and API Testing.

• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, software development life cycle (SDLC), and best practices.

• Experience in any of the Load & Performance tools for scripting, execution and analysis is a must – Apache JMeter, BlazeMeter, Gatling

• Experience in writing, executing and monitoring automated test cases

• Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and other defect tracking/reporting tools.

• Experience in various types of testing including Positive/Negative, Configuration, Data-Driven, UAT, Unit, End-to-End, System, and Regression Testing.

• Execute Functional Testing across multiple browsers and devices using tools like BrowserStack.

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Good to Have:

• Experience with prompt engineering and the effective use of AI in testing.

• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages related to automation.
