The Global Operational Risk & Oversight organization within Global Risk and Compliance (GRC) is responsible for identifying and managing risk across all processes and geographies at American Express. The GRC Platforms and capabilities team within GRC is responsible for building and implementing innovative technology solutions for risk management.
We are seeking an Associate to become part of our global team. This is a team that of dreamers and realists using their creative and analytical chops to design and build world class platforms. These platforms are the heart of American Express Risk Management function
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and drive product roadmap and define timelines for future features and capabilitiesUnderstand and apply new trends and competitive best practices into product roadmap and requirementsBuild, prioritize, and sequence the feature backlog according to defined metrics including business value, return on investment, and job sizeActively collaborate with risk managers, product managers, platform and partner scrum teams and technical engineers in delivery executionIdentify use cases, define business processes, and craft end-to-end user flows.Breakdown complex business requirements into actionable product features and technology user storiesDevelop and implement Test and Learn plan to support ongoing iteration of customer experience and product feature setConduct competitive assessments and develop product recommendations based on analysisLiaise with functions across geographies and Business Units to translate business strategies and goals into product development plansSupport development of appropriate tracking and reporting to determine product performanceMinimum Qualifications
Masters/bachelors degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Technology, Management or related field.Excellent time management skills with ability to manage multiple projectsGood balance of technical knowledge and business acumen with a proven track record of driving digital innovation and business metrics with a customer-first mindsetExperience working with software developers and engineers, with a strong ability to translate product requirements succinctly and ensure technology deliverables are built with high qualityRespect for user experience, design, and technical systems and architecture You easily recognize aesthetic and functional details and can make pragmatic decisions about what details are actually importantWorking knowledge of agile and lean software development methodologies, and the importance of iteration and continuous validationStrong strategic thinker with the ability to prioritize tasks and drive results across various initiativesStrong organizational and project management skills with ability to multi-task and manage multiple work-streamsAbility to analyze issues and business use cases, document analysis, and execute plans to actionAbility to work under pressure and adapt quickly in an environment with evolving business demandsExcellent relationship and influence management skills with the ability to build productive relationships across teams and levels of senioritySelf-confident with a strong sense of integrity and the ability and willingness to challenge and be challengedConfident with the ability to challenge the status quo and drive innovation - articulate point of view with a rationale and be able to defend itProven ability to build collaborative, trusting cross-functional relationships across diverse set of stakeholdersExcellent problem solving and analytical skills with comfort with data-driven decision makingStrong interpersonal and communication skillsQuick learner with excellent attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications
Rally/JIRA/Confluence experienceAgile/Scrum methodology experience.
