Head Engineering

Job Title : Head Engineering & Projects Reporting to : Head of Operations Work Location : Dombivli Entity : Evonik Catalysts India Pvt. Ltd. Purpose of the position : To lead & guide Plant Engineering and Project team to ensure the compliance of all day-to-day activities of site as per the Project Management & EVONIK guide lines for smooth operation. Key Responsibiities : Project Management: Define the scope of the project execution in collaboration with senior management objectives. Plan & Categories the Capex Projects as per the Site requirements and budget allocated. Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project. Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project. Develop innovative cost-reduction and efficiency improvements. Review the project schedule with senior management and all other staff related to Project activities. Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion. Ensure all Planned Projects will complete within timeline & budget. Having close tab on material availability in time, based on different stages of project by having close coordination with Procurement team. Work with full safety by ensuring complete usage of PPEs / following permit system by everyone at execution site. Ensure that the project deliverables with respect Safety on top priority. Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase Prepare and submit the Project execution closure report to the senior management. Plant Engineering & Utilities: To coordinate Engineering & Utility team and lead the function by ensuring the capacity of the plant available for the achievement of production targets at desired phase. Plant Engineering Workshop & Technical services budgetary control & monitoring. Develop Engineering team to adopt new technology to upgrade the skill. Provide technical guidelines to Engineering team as and when required. Internal/external audits compliance for QMS, EMS and other systems. Train Engineering team to better understand the BTD (Binding technical Documents) of Evonik Guideline for plant Maintenance module. Ensure the Plant & Utilities equipment’s OEE >85%. Actively can be Participate in discussion , like Investigation of Incident, RCA (Root Cause Analysis ) , Techno Commercial discussion , if require etc. Can Identify the Sustainable & Cost savings Projects on site to optimize the process & protect environment. Ensure & Maintain Assets Life Cycle w.r.t MIQA (Mechanical Integrity Quality Assurance). Identify the Need base training for team to utilize and implement the knowledge. Participate and encourage participation in various ESH activities such as training, hazard identification, plant round etc. Prepare & discuss lesson learned documents with workforce post incidents. Carry periodic plant inspection to ensure adherence to ESH rules and regulations. Ensure Management of Change Procedure followed for required changes in the plant. Lead team in case of onsite emergencies in the area of working. Education, Certification and/or relevant experience required BE in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering with overall core experience of minimum 15 years in Plant Engineering & Strategic Projects in Chemical /Petrochemical/Pharma industry. Additional skills and abilities required for this position: Uses clear and effective verbal communications skills to express ideas, request actions and formulate plans or policies. Good Leadership skill to demonstrate leadership qualities. Technical Knowledge Sound knowledge of Plant Engineering, Project Management, & Engineering Standards like IS, ASME, API, SAP , Industry 4.0 etc. Basic knowledge of Environmental protection units and legal requirements applicable for site.
