Our platform blends open-source telecom technologies, distributed systems, and modern AI to deliver reliable APIs backed by real human support.We’re scaling quickly and hiring a hands-on technical leader to own our platform architecture and guide both outsourced and internal engineering teams.The RoleYou will be the primary technical owner of the Signalmash platform and responsible for:Platform architecture & evolutionLeading internal + outsourced engineering teamsIntegrating open-source telecom componentsBuilding AI-powered features and automationEnsuring reliability, scalability, and performanceWorking directly with the executive leadership teamThis is a senior, high-impact, architecture-driven role.What You’ll DoPlatform ArchitectureArchitect and evolve our real-time communications platformLead design across SIP, RTP, WebRTC, messaging gateways, routing engines, and distributed backend servicesWork with open-source telecom systems such as: Kamailio, OpenSIPS, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk, Kannel, Jasmin, Janus, etc.Improve scalability, latency, observability, and failoverBuild internal tools for monitoring, diagnostics, routing intelligence, and securityEngineering LeadershipLead outsourced development teams & build an internal engineering teamDefine engineering standards, architecture guidelines, and delivery processesWrite specs, review designs, and mentor engineersDrive clarity, accountability, and technical excellenceAI IntegrationDesign and integrate AI into telecom workflowsBuild intelligent routing, diagnostics, automation, fraud detection, developer toolsImplement LLM integrations, RAG, vector search, and AI orchestration frameworksOptimize AI for performance, reliability, and costSuccessfully integrate proven agentic coding tools into the development processWhat You BringTypically 7+ years of backend, systems, or platform engineering (Unless you're a prodigy—ability matters more than years.)Strong experience with telecom/RTC technologies: SIP, RTP, codecs, signaling, media servers, WebRTC, messaging gatewaysHands-on experience with open-source telecom tools: Kamailio, OpenSIPS, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk, Kannel, Jasmin, etc.Strong backend engineering (Go, Python, Java, Node.js, or similar)Experience architecting distributed, fault-tolerant systemsExperience managing outsourced + internal engineering teamsReal experience integrating AI systems (LLMs, RAG, vector DBs, agents)Excellent English communication skills (spoken & written)Ability to overlap with US mornings & travel internationallyNice to HaveCPaaS experienceMulti-cloud / multi-region architectureTelecom analytics, routing optimization, or fraud detectionExperience scaling engineering orgsBuilding internal automation or AI engineering toolsHow to ApplyEmail the following to careers@signalmash.com1️⃣ Your resume2️⃣ A 2–3 minute unscripted video introducing yourselfApplications without the video will not be reviewed.We look forward to meeting you.
