Job Description: GITAM School of Technology is looking for Lab Technician to support the smooth

functioning of our Chemical Engineering and Bioinformatics laboratories.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all equipment and instruments in the Chemical Engineering laboratories - including PDC (Process Dynamics & Control), HT & MT (Heat and Mass Transfer), BCRE (Biochemical Reaction Engineering), and MO (Mechanical Operations) - are functional and regularly calibrated.
  • Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of Bioinformatics software tools and systems.
  • Maintain laboratory-related software and ensure smooth functioning of lab computer systems.
  • Provide technical support to faculty and students during lab sessions and project work.
  • Manage inventory, consumables, and enforce lab safety protocols.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in computer operations, including MS Office and scientific / lab software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot IT/software-related issues in lab environments.
  • Strong communication and team coordination skills.

Education:

  • Diploma in Chemical Engineering

or

  • M.Sc. in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or any related discipline.
