About the Opportunity:

We are hiring Principal Data Engineers with a strong background in the pharmaceutical domain to join a prestigious and long-standing global pharma company. This role will be part of the Drug Innovation Platform, playing a pivotal part in accelerating drug discovery and development by building robust and scalable data integration solutions.

Scope & Responsibilities:

As Engineer II – Data Integration & Engineering, you will:

  • Design, build, and maintain high-quality data pipelines and integration frameworks across the drug innovation ecosystem.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and application teams to optimize data workflows and ensure data availability, quality, and reliability.
  • Work with large and complex datasets, managing data transformation, modeling, and harmonization.
  • Contribute to data product delivery that supports data-driven decisions across R&D and innovation.

Required Skill Set:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • 13+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or software development.
  • Proven hands-on experience in building and managing cloud-based data pipelines.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Data Integration Tools: Apache NiFi, Informatica, Talend
  • Data Processing Frameworks: Apache Spark, Databricks, Kafka
  • Programming/Scripting: Python, SQL, Scala
  • ETL/ELT Tools: AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Dataflow
  • Data Warehousing: Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery
  • IaC/DevOps: Terraform, CloudFormation
  • Governance & Metadata: Strong understanding of data governance, quality, and metadata management
  • Certifications (Preferred):
  • AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate (or similar credentials)
