Backend Developer / API Developer

bluCognition is an AI/ML based start-up specializing in developing data products leveraging alternative data sources and providing servicing support to our clients in financial services sector. Roles and Responsibilities:


• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs.


• Develop and manage RESTful and GraphQL APIs, ensuring high availability and reliability.


• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing components with backend logic.


• Write reusable, maintainable, and efficient code with a focus on performance.


• Implement and maintain security, authentication, and data protection best practices.


• Optimize applications for maximum performance, scalability, and efficiency.


• Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle, including code reviews, testing, and deployment.


• Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues in the backend.


• Keep up to date with backend development trends and emerging technologies.

Required Skills:


• 2-5 years of experience in backend/API development.


• Strong proficiency in backend languages like Python (Django, Flask) and JavaScript (Node.js).


• Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.


• Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving.


• Experience with asynchronous programming (e.g., asyncio, Celery) and real-time data handling.


• Hands-on experience in developing, documenting, and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs.


• Knowledge of API security standards, including OAuth, JWT, and other authentication mechanisms.


• Proficient with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).


• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.


• Experience with cloud services and deployments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).


• Strong understanding of web application performance and scalability optimization.


• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.


• Effective communication and team collaboration skills.

Educational Requirements:

UG: B. Tech / B.E. in Computer Science or equivalent. PG: Master's in Computer Science, MCA, or equivalent.
