You will lead a team of design engineers and draughtsman’s ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within budget. Your expertise in structural fabrication design and engineering will be crucial in optimizing designs for cost-efficiency and quality.Key Responsibilities:Team Management: Oversee the daily activities of design engineers and their leads, including scheduling, work allocation, and role assignments. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.Project Oversight: Provide daily reporting and status updates on project progress. Monitor design development to ensure timely achievement of deliverables according to the agreed schedule.Cost Optimization: Optimize design processes and solutions to reduce costs while ensuring that projects are delivered within budget constraints.Quality Assurance: Guide the team in producing high-quality deliverables with minimal revisions. Actively resolve client queries to expedite the approval process and ensure adherence to standard work processes.Client and Agency Management: Manage relationships with clients and third-party agencies for outsourced work. Act as a catalyst and problem solver when specialist guidance is required.Interdisciplinary Knowledge: Utilize your interdisciplinary knowledge of Mechanical, Structural, Civil, and Piping departments to ensure comprehensive and integrated design solutions.Project Coordination: Efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing a list of deliverables exceeding 200. Establish effective workflows to ensure high-quality results.Fabrication and Production Support: Resolve queries from the production and fabrication departments related to drawing clarity and constructability.Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 14-15 + years of experience in structural fabrication design and engineering.Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.Skills:Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in design deliverables.Ability to work collaboratively in teams and foster a close-knit working environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.Proficiency in using drafting tools such as AutoCAD 2D/3D and Inventor.Familiarity with design tools and/or understanding their input and output, such as Staad for civil and structural design, PVElite for static equipment design, and Caesar for piping stress analysis.Knowledge of relevant design standards and practices, including ASME Section VIII, II, API, etc.Familiarity with applicable design codes such as IS codes for structure and civil design, IBR standards, and OISD norms.
