We design, develop and manufacture high-quality, high-performance, sustainable batteries applied to multiple use cases in the mobility and energy sectors, to match our customers’ requirements.Agratas is a scale-up business with a start-up mentality, driven by our pursuit of green growth and technological progress.We develop next-generation battery technologies at our state-of-the-art R&D Innovation Hubs in India and the UK.JOB SUMMARYThis is senior leadership finance role, where as Head of Tax, you will lead our tax function, overseeing all aspects of Direct and Indirect Tax compliance and strategy for our operations in India and the UK. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of both jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with local regulations while optimizing our tax position.RESPONSIBILITIESTax Strategy Development:Develop and implement tax strategies that align with the company's business objectives while ensuring compliance with Indian and UK tax regulations.Direct and Indirect Tax Management:Oversee all aspects of Direct and Indirect Tax, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, transfer pricing, and other relevant tax matters.Compliance and Reporting:Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and compliance with local tax laws and regulations in both India and the UK.Tax Advisory:Provide expert advice on tax implications for business decisions, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives. Collaborate with Group Tax team for implementing and ensuring Tax compliance, reporting and bringing outside in perspectiveRisk Management:Identify and mitigate tax risks by developing and maintaining robust tax policies and procedures.Stakeholder Engagement:Liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and operations teams, to ensure cohesive tax strategy implementation.Team Leadership:Lead and develop a high-performing tax team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.Tax Audits and Disputes:Manage tax audits and disputes, representing the company’s interests and negotiating with tax authorities as necessary.Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceEssential:Minimum of 15 years of experience in tax roles, with a strong focus on both Direct and Indirect Tax in India and the UK. Experience in a multinational environment is preferred.In-depth knowledge of Indian and UK tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Familiarity with international tax principles is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to interpret complex tax legislation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.Desired:Experience in manufacturing industryRole Specific Qualifications/CertificationsA relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CA)
