SAP HANA Database Administrator (DBA)

Location: Hyderabad / Bangalore

Experience Required : 3 to 5 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 3.5 years in SAP HANA DBA

Availability: Immediate joiners are highly preferred

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented SAP HANA Database Administrator (DBA) with at least 3.5 years of hands-on experience. The candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end administration of SAP HANA databases, including installation, configuration, monitoring, performance tuning, and backup management. The role requires strong technical expertise, good communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade SAP HANA databases.
  • Monitor database performance, health, and availability using HANA Studio, HANA Cockpit, and related tools.
  • Perform regular database backups and restorations using SAP HANA native tools or third-party solutions.
  • Set up and maintain high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) configurations.
  • Manage user roles and authorizations at the database level.
  • Monitor and configure data replication (SLT, SDA, SDI).
  • Collaborate with SAP Basis, application, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth system operations.
  • Plan and execute patches, updates, and database migrations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve HANA performance issues and optimize SQL queries.
  • Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure security compliance and perform regular audits.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3.5 years of experience as an SAP HANA DBA.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP HANA architecture, administration, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with SAP HANA 1.0 and 2.0 environments.
  • Proficiency with HANA Studio, HANA Cockpit, and Linux (SUSE/RHEL).
  • Understanding of backup/recovery strategies and tools.
  • Basic SAP Basis knowledge and integration with HANA.
  • Experience with SAP Solution Manager is a plus.
  • SAP HANA certification (optional but preferred).
