Purpose of Role

Looking for a dynamic individual skilled in managing and optimizing our insurance programs across all stages of renewable energy project lifecycles – from development and construction to operations and maintenance.

Position Title

Chief Manager - Insurance

Position Summary

The individual will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks through comprehensive insurance strategies, ensuring adequate coverage, and driving cost-effective solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of both insurance principles, and the specific risks associated with large-scale renewable energy projects.

Position Demands

  • MBA in Finance/Insurance from a premier institute. 10-15 years of relevant experience with a large and reputable Renewable or large Corporate, IB, PE Funds, Big 4
  • Domain experience in Power/Transmission / infrastructure industry.
  • Understanding of the technical aspects of solar, wind, and other renewable energy technologies. Strong understanding of Indian Insurance Market and insurance products

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Manage the renewal process for various insurance policies, including Property All Risks (IAR/Mega Risk), Business Interruption, Marine Cargo, Construction All Risks (CAR), Erection All Risks (EAR), Public Liability, Environmental Liability, Professional Indemnity, and Cyber Insurance.
  • Review and negotiate policy wordings, terms, and conditions with brokers and underwriters to ensure optimal coverage and competitive pricing, ensuring compliance with local and international insurance regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for new and existing renewable energy projects, identifying potential exposures (e.g., natural catastrophes, equipment failure, technology risks, supply chain disruptions, political risks).
