The SRE domain is responsible for enabling innovation and velocity of change while ensuring system reliability focusing on the critical features and functionality within products and platforms. It handles monitoring, automating, and improving the reliability, performance and availability of software systems. Team members in this domain work on tasks such as automating manual processes and operations, building effective monitoring & alerting into systems, participating in system design and capacity planning and ensuring the smooth operation of systems applications with a focus on application availability and preventing incidents.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Ensure key stakeholders, product owners, and platform owners are informed of reliability concerns and their potential impact on the customers' experience.
• Design, code, test and deliver solutions to automate manual operation (i.e., "TOIL").
• Participate in operations support and on-call rotation shifts (could include weekends and holidays) for SRE supported systems and products with a focus on implementing long-term solutions for any problems identified.
• Track and manage reliability performance against agreed SLOs, in partnership with IT monitoring teams or other stakeholders, and ensure systems continue to meet SLOs over time.
• Provide knowledge on reliability approaches, to ensure our organization achieves its goals and roadmap for reliability.
• Champion reliability being treated as a feature for a product and promote the concept across all phases of the software development life cycle.
• Create dashboards and reports to communicate key metrics, to product owners and key stakeholders.
• Contribute to documentation and runbooks for owned applications based on operational experience, user feedback, and application changes

ALL YOU WILL NEED FOR SUCCESS

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS / MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience / training
• 1+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS / MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience / training
• Airline Industry experience

Skills, Licenses, and Certifications:

• Proficiency with one or more high-level languages, such as Python, Java, C / C++, and JavaScript
• Proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
• Ability to optimize solutions for performance, resiliency and reliability while maintaining an eye toward simplicity
• Proficiency in DevOps Toolchain methodologies, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies such as SCRUM
• Proficiency with the following technologies:
• Source Control: GitHub
• Cloud Providers such as Azure and AWS
• Observability platforms such as Dynatrace, New Relic, Datadog, Grafana or AppDynamics
• Logging platforms such as Mezmo, Splunk, Dynatrace, or ELK

LANGUAGE / COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels within the organization
