Project Manager

As a Project Manager, you will own the end-to-end project lifecycle for both new client implementations and ongoing initiatives on our in-house LMS platform. You'll be the primary point of contact for clients, coordinating across engineering, product, sales, and business teams to ensure seamless project execution and exceptional client satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesClient & Stakeholder ManagementServe as the primary liaison for new B2B clients and customers throughout the project lifecycleBuild and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders at various levelsConduct regular status meetings, presentations, and demos to keep stakeholders informedManage client expectations and negotiate scope, timelines, and resource allocationGather and document client requirements, translating business needs into technical specificationsProject ManagementLead end-to-end project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure for Open edX implementationsDevelop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategiesCoordinate multiple concurrent projects across different client accounts and internal initiativesManage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure profitability targets are metIdentify and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies proactivelyCross-functional CoordinationWork closely with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and timely deliveryCollaborate with product teams to align client requirements with product roadmapPartner with sales teams during pre-sales activities and proposal developmentCoordinate with business teams on commercial aspects and contract managementFacilitate communication and remove blockers across all teamsReporting & DocumentationMaintain comprehensive project documentation including requirements, specifications, and change logsProvide regular status reports to internal leadership and client stakeholdersTrack and report on key project metrics including progress, budget, quality, and risksDocument lessons learned and contribute to continuous process improvementMaintain project artifacts in relevant tools and systemsAgile/Scrum PracticesFacilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and sprint reviewsManage product backlogs and ensure proper prioritization of user storiesTrack sprint velocity and team capacity to support realistic planningCoach teams on agile best practices and continuous improvementRequired QualificationsExperience5+ years of project management experience in technology or software development environmentsProven track record of successfully delivering complex technical projects from inception to completionExperience managing B2B client relationships and stakeholder engagementExperience working with distributed or remote engineering teamsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslySkillsStrong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologiesExcellent communication skills with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiencesStrong problem-solving and critical thinking abilitiesProven stakeholder management and negotiation skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing prioritiesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)Preferred QualificationsScrum Master certification (CSM, PSM) or equivalent agile certificationPMP, PRINCE2, or other project management certificationPrior experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or EdTech platformsExperience with LMS integrations (SAML, OAuth, LTI, xAPI, etc.)Understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and DevOps practicesExperience with project management tools (Jira, Asana, Monday.com, MS Project)Background in technical pre-sales or solution architectureExperience in managing enterprise-level implementationsTechnical Knowledge (Good to Have)Knowledge of API integrations and web servicesFamiliarity with software deployment processes and version control systemsUnderstanding of database concepts and data migration strategiesAwareness of security and compliance requirements in educational technologyWhat You'll Be Working OnNew Open edX platform implementations for enterprise and B2B clientsPlatform customizations including themes, XBlocks, and feature developmentThird-party system integrations (SSO, content libraries, proctoring, analytics)Platform upgrades and migration projects (e.g., version upgrades from Quince to Sumac)In-house LMS enhancements and new feature rolloutsMulti-region deployments and localization projectsKey Success MetricsOn-time and within-budget project deliveryClient satisfaction scores and retention ratesSuccessful project handoffs and client onboardingTeam velocity and productivity improvementsQuality of project documentation and reportingStakeholder feedback and engagement levels
