A Data Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable and secure data architecture that support business needs, often with expertise in cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP, and requires strong experience in data modeling, integration, and optimization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and Model Data Structures: Define the data requirements, design logical and physical data models, and ensure they align with application and business objectives.
  • Data Integration and ETL: Lead the integration of diverse data sources and design robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to support data flow and quality.
  • Cloud and On-Premises Architectures: Build and optimize cloud-based data storage solutions, primarily on Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud platforms.
  • Performance Tuning: Optimize data systems for scalability, security, and efficiency across multiple environments.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Engage with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions. Lead and mentor teams when required.
  • Documentation and Governance: Maintain detailed documentation of data architectures and schemas to ensure consistency and compliance with governance policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: 9 to 14 years of experience.
  • Technical Skills Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Services. Proficiency in SQL, data modeling tools, data integration architecture, ETL frameworks, and knowledge of NoSQL databases (like MongoDB), relational databases (like PostgreSQL, Oracle), and cloud services.
  • Education: Minimum of 15 years of formal education (equivalent to a bachelor's degree) in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Domain Expertise: Experience working in diverse domains such as healthcare, finance, government, or technology sectors. Knowledge of US healthcare data systems is desirable.
