:General Purpose of Job
The "India T&I team" is part of the Global Technology & Innovation team. The India T&I team is tasked with developing, tweaking, translation of new products and providing excellent technical services to our customer for India Polyurethanes business, its portfolio of products. The job holder will be a hands-on application chemist who will provide customer services, troubleshooting and product tweaking on the current and future portfolio of products specifically for Adhesives, Coatings, and Elastomers (ACE) Unique features of this role will be the ability form a bridge between the product development, R&D and sales/marketing teams to identify and offer customer specific solutions As and when required the job may also demand the networking and transfer of knowledge from PU local/global innovation and technology community.Essential Functions and Principal Accountabilities
Ensure full compliance with safety, health and environmental guidelines according to site and company standards in all areas of responsibility, including customer locations, plants, laboratory facilities and testing equipment's. Promote safety behavior according to the above guidelines. Has a strong ability to understand and practice Adhesive, Coating and Elastomer products for different applications. Develop a product know-how by connecting with the global and local product development and R&D teams. If needed, the candidate must tweak or modify or fine tune the available technology in the lab to offer customer specific solutions, troubleshooting and problem solving. Ensure our products run as per the expectation of the standards at customer locations Work very closely with sales team to drive New Business Developments (NBD), Innovation deliverable of the year or budgeted innovation targets of the year Work closely with technical and R&D teams to drive new product developments (NPD) Write customer service reports in line with the report guidelines Maintain an advanced awareness of competition portfolio and our portfolio local and global to enhance the market success Develop a strong know-how on local and global technology offerings by internal networkingOther general responsibilities:
Must be an innovative and analytical thinker who is able to influence key individuals of all disciplines and levels inside and outside the organization in order to progress innovation. Needs a high degree of initiative and problem-solving skills, together with a positive, independent, and self-managing attitude. Must be able to communicate with different business teams and academics around the world which requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills are necessary to build internal and external networks. Will be responsible for proposing and writing reports, not only for internal use, but for eventual publication and/or presentation at relevant conferences. Must be a fluent communicator in English. Other languages are an asset. Must be prepared to make significant travel locally and globally and work across international boundaries.Education / Experience
Must have an equivalent of a Masters (M.Sc., M. Tech. or MS) in Chemistry, Materials Science, Applied materials, Industrial Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Polymer Engineering. A broad base of experience in Applied Chemistry, polymer chemistry, formulation, prototyping and advanced characterization is necessary. Demonstrated expertise in formulation, prototyping and application developments. Techno commercial expertise 1-5 years of Product & Application Development, R&D or experience in a technology, techno-market oriented organization Application development experience in polyurethane based, Foams, Adhesives, Elastomers and Coating products Proven track record of successfully running products, applications, machine trials at both internal and customer locations Strong skills in handling multiple projects. Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically when implementing products and solving customer or product related problems. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, with both technical and non-technical individuals, customers, cross-functional teams. Must be a skilled and experienced user of a variety of IT tools and techniques in order to ensure efficient design, analytical and communication processes. Optionally, some understanding on top global technology Megatrends and drivers (Green/Clean/Sustainable products, E-Mobility, Autonomous vehicles, Digitalization, Robotics etc.)Skills and Knowledge
Highly innovative and willing to take initiative to tackle complex technical challenges. Able to apply good project management principles to own work and the work of global project teams. Good communication skills and fluency in English. Other languages are an asset. Good IT skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coach others.
