Position: Senior Equity AnalystDepartment: ResearchReports to: Head of EquityEmployment type: Full time, work-from-officeExperience: 5-7 yearsLocation: Chennai Position OverviewWe are seeking an accomplished Senior Equity Analyst to join our Portfolio Management Services (PMS) team. This role will be integral to building and managing the stock PMS portfolios for our clients. The role requires sector tracking and stock identification to enable portfolio decisions. The role also involves mentoring junior analysts and partnering closely with our Fund Manager, Research Committee, and Advisory team. If you are passionate about deep-dive research, connecting macro trends to stock performance, and influencing investment outcomes, this opportunity will allow you to make a direct and lasting impact. Key ResponsibilitiesEquity researchTrack assigned sectors across market caps, converting macro data/events into stock impact analysisRun stock screeners to identify trends and opportunities for PMS portfoliosDevelop financial models, valuations (DCF, relative, comparable), and target pricesCollaborate with Fund Manager and Research Committee on portfolio construction and allocationMonitor existing stock calls and generate detailed research reportsEvaluate off-coverage opportunities from screening models or market developmentsContribute blog articles on stock reviews, sector updates, and market perspectives for customer engagementMaintain ethical standards in research and handling material non-public information Research team supportMentor and guide junior analysts, ensuring high standards of analytical rigor and effective sector tracking.Foster a knowledge-sharing environment through team discussions, debates, and continuous learning initiatives. Advisory team supportEquip the advisory team with timely insights and sector updates to enhance their ability to engage with clients.Provide explanatory notes on significant stock/sector developments for client-facing communication.Conduct periodic training sessions for the advisory team to strengthen their market knowledge and client conversion skills.Support the advisory team with  customer or potential customer  interactions answering queries or highlighting the benefits of PrimeInvestor’s PMS productsRequired QualificationsEducation & ExperienceGraduate or Post-graduate degree in Finance/Economics/Commerce OR a CFA charter holderAt least 5 years of experience in equity research and issuing stock calls Skills & CompetenciesAbility to synthesize large amounts of data into actionable insights.Proficiency in using spreadsheets such as Excel or Google Sheets and familiarity with databases such as Ace Equity, Capitaline, etc.Strong grasp of macroeconomic and sectoral trends and their impact on equities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present research clearly and persuasively.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. What We OfferCompetitive compensationOpportunity to help design portfolios for high-net-worth clienteleExposure in building an innovative PMS product from the ground-upThe chance to work with an industry-leading research team at the intersection of fintech and portfolio management.Career advancement opportunities within the organization About PrimeInvestorPrimeInvestor is an innovative B2C fintech company transforming the way individuals invest.
