NIKSUN is seeking an experienced cloud engineer, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services. This role is essential to ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of our cloud-native services and platforms. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in managing cloud environments and Kubernetes-based deployments in production.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and optimize clusters for performance and health, including cluster upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.
  • Administer Kubernetes clusters including addition of new nodes, maintenance of existing nodes and infrastructure, management of taints and tolerations, etc
  • Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and cost-efficiency across cloud-based systems.
  • Automate infrastructure tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Build and support CI/CD pipelines via Jenkins to streamline application deployment.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support application rollouts and incident management.
  • Monitor system health and respond to incidents with clear communication and effective troubleshooting.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure, procedures, and runbooks.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or related infrastructure roles.
  • Solid knowledge of Kubernetes operations, Helm, and container runtimes (Docker, containers).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI.
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and their administration

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering

The role involves working with customer engineering teams on a wide variety of cloud infrastructure projects, including migration, containerization, and transformation initiatives. Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, PCI, ITAR, etc.) is beneficial.
