We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Product Merchandiser Intern to join our gifting business. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for unique products and a passion for curating exceptional gift hampers. The intern will be responsible for researching, sourcing, and negotiating with vendors to enhance our product offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Research: Explore and identify unique gifting products online that align with our brand ethos and customer preferences.
- Vendor Sourcing: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to source products effectively.
- Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Gift Hamper Curation: Design and curate attractive gift hampers that meet seasonal trends and customer demands.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to understand current trends in gifting and identify potential new products.
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels to ensure timely availability of curated products.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing and sales teams to align product offerings with promotional campaigns.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends and consumer behaviour.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with vendors.
- Creative mindset with a passion for gift curation and design.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator) is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in merchandising, retail, or a related field is advantageous but not required.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
