Join us as a Mortgage Underwriting Delivery Manager 

  • In your new role, you’ll be managing and developing processes within the team to ensure effective monitoring and control of advances 

  • You’ll also be responsible for making sure decisions on mortgage applications are made in a timely manner and within policy, and that your team meet agreed Service Level Agreements 

  • Take on a new role to lead and participate in bank level initiatives and gain the opportunity to network with stakeholders both internally and externally 

  • We're offering this role at assistant vice president level

    • What you'll do 

    In this key role, you’ll be maintaining a clear understanding of the needs of our customers and stakeholders to deliver the most appropriate and fit for purpose solution when dealing with complex issues. Building strong relationships with all the stakeholders, you’ll also be making sure that delivery is in line with the operational requirements and aligned to customer and business needs.  

    We’ll look to you to coach and develop the team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic, ensuring excellent service to our brokers and applicants. 

    Through the course of your work, you’ll be:  

    • Overseeing the gathering and maintenance of business-critical MI to make sure that assurance and compliance objectives are met 

    • Providing subject matter knowledge to the team to make sure that policy standards are effectively and accurately embedded across divisions 

    • Supporting the development of team performance and customer service by role modelling our core service behaviours and standards, and adopting leadership tools and techniques 

    • Acting as an internal consultant and subject matter expert to enable and inform effective standards, processes and controls along with being a backup in the absence of a Unit Leader 

    • Planning and delivering the effective management of key controls and supporting the development and maintenance of the business continuity plans  

    • Collaborating with the wider policy team to identify upstream policy risks, undertaking analysis to identify impacts The skills you'll need 

      To excel in this role, you’ll have knowledge and experience of Mortgage Lending including a prior experience in UK residential Mortgages with a good understanding of end-to-end Mortgage lifecycle. 

      You’ll also demonstrate a proactive, hardworking, flexible approach with the ability to work under own initiatives and as a team player. Prior experience in managing an Underwriting team will be advantageous.  

      Additionally, you’ll need:  

      • Motivational skills that promote performance within the underwriting team 

      • Strong relationship management and stakeholder management skills 

      • Knowledge of relevant internal and external regulatory frameworks
