Position Title: TRADE FINANCE SPECIALIST


Reporting to: Finance Manager


Location : India


Exp - 2-3 YEARS


Background COMMERCE / FINANCE


Skills : Trade Finance Management/ LC, Good with system and excel

This specific role shall report to the Client Projects Middle East and East Africa regional headquarters in Dubai


Purpose / Direction / Mission of this role:


The subject role shall be responsible for all banking and trade finance functions within the finance department. Trade Finance Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating trade transactions by providing financial solutions and mitigating risks for businesses involved in purchase / sales transactions. The responsibilities shall primarily include Letter of Credit Management / Documentary Collections / Bank Guarantee /Banking Relationship management / Working Capital Management etc


Major Responsibilities:


- Review, advise on, and process letters of credit, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions of credit both on Import and Export transactions.


- Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and banks to resolve discrepancies and facilitate smooth negotiations.


- Ensuring clean negotiations of export letter of credits, proactively advising for potential discrepancies and suggestions for mitigating the same.


- Negotiating cost of funding with different banks for export LCs.


- Initiating internal approvals for import/export LCs.


- Handle and process documentary collections, ensuring accurate presentation of shipping and financial / commercial documents.


- Provide guidance to clients on the collection process and address any discrepancies.


- Bank Facility Utilization and Management: Optimize the interest / bank charges by carefully analyzing the available credit lines with the banks / treasury and utilizing them.


- Assess and manage risks associated with trade, including currency exposures, forex risks, and credit risks.


- Recommend and implement risk mitigation strategies such as hedging requirements wherever necessary.


- Evaluate and recommend appropriate financing options to meet the working capital needs of the company.


- Stay updated on international trade regulations / INCO terms and compliance requirements.


- Ensure that trade transactions adhere to legal and regulatory frameworks.


- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, suppliers, and customers.


- Oversee and verify trade-related documents, including invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.


- Provide expert advice to commercial teams on trade finance products, services, and best practices.


- Generate reports on trade finance activities, trends, and performance metrics.


- Conduct analysis to identify areas for process improvement and optimization.


Qualifications:


- Graduate/PG in Commerce / Finance


- At least 2-3 years professional experience in Trade Finance Management / LCs


- Excellent computer skills, proficient with Microsoft suite of products, (particularly Excel) .


- Excellent Communication & Negotiation Skills


- A self-starter, able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment.


- Team player, flexible, open-minded, commercial, responsible


- High level of motivation and positive approach


- Integrity, loyalty and confidentiality


- Fluent English, any other languages a plus
