Job Description

The Team

Global Demo org is a newly created function that creates outcome/solution-based demos. We help our Solution Consultants and Partner ecosystem drive sales by providing them with the necessary narratives to do a demo as part of the sales cycle.

Manager – Global Demo Org is about to embark on several strategic transformation efforts, including reimaging solution-based demos that span multiple products and solve a business problem.  

We seek a Manager, Global Demo Org to grow and lead our Technology Workflow Demo Solutions team .  The Demo Solutions group has teams that provide demo content and automation for high-impact software built to work with scale the availability of demos built on our application platform. Duties include managing the SDLC for quality demo builds, such as managing the framework and individual daily tasks of a team of architects and engineers. 

What you get to do in this role:

  • Manage and lead a group of engineers on the Demo Solutions team
  • Collaborate with the Demo Hub program team and your immediate development team on their day-to-day activities
  • You'll mentor, grow, and develop the engineers
  • Management of departmental resources like recruiting, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team
  • Help contribute to your team's project (coding 10-15%) and conduct code reviews
  • Be comfortable in the Now Platform to be able to navigate the application architecture and features 
  • Work closely with product management, design, support, and other dev teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • You'll plan and execute a project based on organization priorities, context, risks, and desired outcomes. 
  • Be comfortable and use quick thinking and innovative ideas to solve ambiguous problems
  • Deliver an outstanding experience for our customer
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of software industry experience and 1+ years of experience as a manager leading software developers especially on Now Platform
  • Experience with ServiceNow applications such as SPM and Operation Technology.
  • Fluency in one or more relevant programming languages (JavaScript, Glide, etc.)
  • Aptitude for understanding new technologies quickly
  • Experience managing software development teams operating in Scaled Agile 
  • Experience with fundamentals in distributed systems design and development
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment
  • Advanced understanding of software design, development, testing, and problem-solving
  • Experience with supporting troubleshooting efforts of difficult production issues e.g. memory leaks, network problems, intermittent failures, etc. across the stack
  • Ability to hire top talent and build a productive team
  • Knowledge of best practices for object-oriented and modularized software. with particular emphasis on Java
  • Able to articulate broad concepts and use those concepts to understand and develop solutions for problems.
