Our Indian Operations Centre (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2000+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision, and commissioning. Over the last decade, INOPC has evolved to become the largest engineering hub serving more than 40 countries across different energy sectors. The team caters to the four business units—Transformers, Grid Integration, Grid Automation, High Voltage and has successfully executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) and HVDC Light are highly efficient alternatives for transmitting bulk power and for special purpose applications. The classic HVDC technology is used to transmit electric power over long distances by overhead transmission lines or submarine cables. It is also used to interconnect separate power systems, where traditional alternating current (AC) connections cannot be used. HVDC Light® is a power transmission technology developed by Hitachi Energy that offers additional benefits compared to HVDC Classic.

Mission Statement:

The Project Manager for Valves has the responsibility to ensure deliveries of the projects according to plan, lead the project technical team, monitor the valve factory deliverables, procurement, testing, and material handling based on project requirements-Ordinating with cross functional teams globally to ensure the delivery of the project and leading the project by mitigating risks and assessing opportunities.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the project team, establish the project execution approach, and oversee project hand-over, execution planning, monitoring and control activities for both internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.

  • Ensure project formality and documentation is complete for clear project release following Hitachi Energy Policies.

  • Act as the key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Define all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans.

  • Identify, qualify, quantify, and manage project risks.

  • Supervision of shipment, transport of the Converter Valves from the plant to the customer and installation at the assembly site.

Your Background:

  • Education Qualification: Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation or Mechanical Engineering.

  • You should have with a minimum work experience of 7+ years for bachelor’s degree & 5+ years for master’s degree in electrical or Power Industry or EPC industries with project management experience.

  • You must have knowledge in leading Project team and project management experience.

  • You must have knowledge in Customer coordination and cost management.

  • Risk management and schedule management.

  • Strong knowledge in MS Project, MS Office: Word, Excel

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-starter caliber who could own tasks through to completion.
