About the Team

At Nutanix, you will be joining the UX Researcher team, a collaborative group with members based in both the US and India. This team strikes a balance between structure and autonomy, fostering a dynamic and high-performing environment. Clear goals and support are provided for team members while also allowing freedom to explore and experiment with their work. The diverse perspectives and expertise within the team create an exciting and innovative atmosphere where ideas are encouraged and creativity is valued.

You will report to the Senior Manager, UX Research, who is dedicated to supporting your growth and success within the team. The work setup at Nutanix is a hybrid model, requiring employees to be in the office for 2–3 days a week. This blend of remote and in-person work allows for flexibility while also promoting collaboration and team bonding. As such, you will have the opportunity to benefit from the balance of focused work at home and the energy of in-person interactions at the office.

Your Role

  • Lead research projects by collaborating with a broad team of designers, product managers, UI developers, backend engineers, and other leaders to identify opportunities that will benefit from your research offerings.

  • Communicate and demonstrate the value of user research and track the impact it has on our products.

  • Define research protocols and plans for our portfolio of products as a part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Work with UX designers, engineering teams, and product managers to ensure research findings are fully leveraged in the product design and development life cycle.

  • Design and execute a wide range of both qualitative and quantitative research methods to provide the best fit for a variety of project types and phases.

  • Play a central role in building a new multi-faceted research program and culture.

  • Build the research strategy for one or more of our flagship products. Serve as the champion of our users’ needs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7-10+ years of user research experience for web and/or cloud products with bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, applicable behavioral science, or related field.

  • Proficient in a variety of user research techniques and reports.

  • A solid track record of creating user journeys, conducting on-prem contextual inquiries, and developing data-driven cloud analytics.

  • Passion for user advocacy, telling customer stories, and simplifying complex problems.

  • The ability to understand not only the research domain, but also our products to a level of detail that enables you to help engineering, product management, and design to prioritize actions resulting from user research alongside new features, technical debt, and product strategy.

  • Strong working knowledge of the latest research tools.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely to project stakeholders as well as company leadership.

  • Experience working across multiple phases of design (conceptual mockups, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, etc.).
