THE DEPARTMENT
As part of a department transition from Singapore to Bangalore, this middle office opportunity sits within the International Wealth Management (IWM) Asia Operations team based in Bangalore, an IWM Operations hub with a growing presence year-on-year. IWM Operations has a strong presence in Bangalore, Hong Kong, Australia, and Singapore.
IWM Operations support the IWM business unit located in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia. IWM is a Client private banking business centered on providing investment/banking solutions to its Ultra High Net Worth client base.
TEAM PROFILE
This middle office team (also known as Trade Support) comprises of dedicated professionals, performing a myriad of functions, all with a common purpose: to provide front to back trade support to our IWM clients for products such as Equity, Fixed Income, Mutual Fund, Hedge Fund, and Equity & Fixed Income Structured Notes. Front to back functions include trade booking, reconciliation, settlement oversight, and ad-hoc & project involvement. This role will give the candidate a significant opportunity to become a subject matter expert across a number of products under Wealth Management business context while providing daily interaction with the Asia based business unit.
The role will require the candidate to work Asia hours (Hong Kong/Singapore).
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Monitoring trading systems and booking trades on a TD basis
Perform daily reconciliation and clearance of positions/balances breaks, timely escalate to supervisor on any outstanding breaks by day end
Daily interaction with the Sales & Trading Desks and IWM business unit answering via phone any ad-hoc requests/trade-related questions
Demonstrate strong process knowledge of business process on the products managed under the candidate's remit
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have:-
At least 2-6 years experience (depending on role grade) in the financial services sector such as a middle office / trade support role.
Relevant experience in cash equity, fixed income, mutual funds, hedge funds, structured notes/derivatives products will be an added advantage.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. The role will require daily phone calls with traders and IWM business unit.
Superb attention to detail, accuracy & quality, with mathematical skills (PnL calculations)
Strong time management and task prioritization skills. Ability to work Hong Kong hours to ensure all deliverables are performed within required timescales before day end.
