Purpose of the role

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of Direct and Indirect tax functions across the organization's supporting the organization's long-term financial goals. This role involves ensuring compliance with tax regulations, formulating tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position including offering structuring solutions and managing tax risks efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Heading the tax function; ensuring all applicable compliances, tax planning & implementations of tax regulations for Direct & Indirect Taxation, Transfer Pricing and Audits.
  • Act as the key point of contact and manage relationships with tax authorities, external advisors, and auditors, ensuring the company is represented accurately and positively.
  • Ensuring filing of all Income Tax Returns, Income Tax Forms, Advance Tax, TDS Returns, GST Returns, registrations and amendments thereto, timely payments of statutory dues, and MIS reports.
  • Managing tax audits & certifications, transfer pricing assessments, IT assessment & appeals for tax notices and disputes.
  • Administering Indirect Tax compliance for the company’s operations; contributing in Strategic Planning, Legal & Procedural Compliances, and Litigation for PAN India
  • Supervising and updating the senior management and cross-functional teams of various business functions about latest changes in tax compliances & regulations on a timely basis by assessing the possible implications and industry scenario.
  • Evaluating, analyzing, and suggesting process improvement initiatives to establish effective internal controls.
  • Conducting strategic analysis of agreements, proposals, and contracts to ascertain tax implications.
  • Liaising with the top management in formulating strategies on restructuring & mergers
  • Partnering with business units to proactively identify and research tax planning opportunities; implementing structural and non-structural tax planning strategies to maximize savings.
  • Scheduling and organizing training sessions for Taxation Team on tax education for various tax matters, amendments, notifications, and so on to spread awareness on updation in tax law and regulations.
  • Liaising with Auditors, Tax Consultants, and Government Regulatory Authorities for managing Statutory, GST Refunds, Income Tax & GST Audits, legal opinions, tax planning & efficiency, and other matters on an ongoing basis.
  • Managing receivables and Payables from FEMA perspective
