We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented programmer to design, compose, and test complex communication documents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, excellent coding skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This role requires the ability to quickly learn custom and third-party tool sets, follow a development process, and communicate effectively with internal teams and business customers.


Experience: 4 years+

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Composition: Design and compose complex communication documents using custom and third-party tool sets, adhering to provided specifications and approved design/test plans.
  • Coding and Testing: Transform provided specifications and approved design/test plans into composition code deliverables, individually unit testing and remediating issues.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with business users during the UAT project phase to remediate issues and during the deployment project phase to align with business deadlines. Communicate professionally with internal teams and business customers.
  • Analysis and Troubleshooting: Analyze and troubleshoot workflows, data files, and print files, including PDF, LCDS, and AFP, and manipulate and understand key print file concepts such as TLE and Page Segments.
  • Logic and Data Manipulation: Manipulate, validate, and transform data files using third-party toolsets, and set up reusable logic libraries and master workflows to support Document Template design.
  • Database Management: Utilize SQL Server, stored procedures, and functions to manage data and define Omni Channel outputs.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to the upkeep and consistency of internal documentation related to issues, resolutions, usage topics, and training.


Requirements and Skills:

  • Programming Experience: Proven experience as a programmer or relevant role, with expertise in languages such as C++, Java (J2EE), and Python.
  • Composition Language: Proficiency in a highly robust composition language such as DOC1/EngageOne, Quadient, or comparable composition tool.
  • File Formats: Excellent knowledge of files with fixed, delimited, XML, and JSON formatting.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical Mindset: Detail-oriented, with excellent concentration ability and an analytical mindset.
  • Error Detection and Fixing: Demonstrable ability to discover and fix errors in code.
  • Logic Skills: Strong logic skills, with the ability to manipulate and validate data files using third-party toolsets.
  • SQL Server and Database Management: Knowledge of SQL Server, stored procedures, and functions, with the ability to manage data and define Omni Channel outputs.
  • Print File Concepts: Understanding of key print file concepts such as TLE and Page Segments, and experience with print files such as PDF, LCDS, and AFP
