About the role

As a founding AI engineer at Bynd, you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing financial services through AI-driven workflow automation. In this capacity, you'll:

  • Architect and develop cutting-edge AI systems that leverage large language models and emerging agent architectures to transform complex financial processes into efficient, automated workflows.
  • Research and implement state-of-the-art techniques in natural language processing, machine learning, and AI to solve real-world challenges in the finance sector.
  • Lead and mentor a talented team of AI engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.


A typical day could involve:

  • Designing and implementing scalable, robust, and secure AI systems that can handle the complexity and scale of financial data and processes.
  • Collaborating with professionals across financial services to identify and prioritize high-impact AI opportunities.
  • Reading research papers on the latest advancements in transformer models and downstream application architectures to ensure Bynd remains at the forefront of innovation.


Qualifications Hard Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science or AI
  • 5+ years of industry experience in AI/ML engineering roles
  • 2+ industry experience in financial services (on the buy-side or sell-side)
  • Deep expertise in natural language processing, machine learning, and deep learning, with a proven track record of delivering high-impact AI solutions in production environments
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning and LLM frameworks
  • Experience with large language models, transformer architectures, and emerging AI technologies such as agent-based systems
  • Proven ability to lead and manage high-performing AI engineering teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex and nuanced technical challenges in the finance domain
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern software engineering practices (Agile, CI/CD, etc.)


Bonus Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, AI, or a related field
  • Experience with financial data, workflows, and processes
  • Contributions to open-source AI projects or research publications in top-tier conferences/journals
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and experience in fast-paced startup environments
