The General Manager of Public Policy & Government Affairs at Porter will shape interactions with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and policymakers to ensure a favourable operating environment. Responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic policies, ensuring legal compliance, engaging with key stakeholders, and driving advocacy efforts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the industry policy landscape and a proven track record of influencing policy outcomes.

Roles:

  • Lead the development and execution of PORTER's policy strategy, including identifying key policy issues, assessing potential impacts, and advocating for favourable outcomes.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at the local, state, and federal levels that could affect PORTER's operations or industry landscape.
  • Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, government officials, industry associations, and other stakeholders to advance PORTER's policy priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate policy considerations into business strategies and operations.
  • Analyse proposed policies, regulations, and legislation to assess potential risks and opportunities for PORTER and develop recommendations for action.
  • Represent PORTER in policy forums, public hearings, and industry conferences, articulating our positions and advocating for policies that support our objectives.
  • Prepare briefing materials, policy papers, and other communications to educate internal and external stakeholders on relevant policy issues and developments.
