Scientist/Sr. Scientist – Super-Capacitor

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Scientist to join our team focused on the development of Super-Capacitor / Li-ion capacitor. As a Senior Scientist, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing advanced battery technologies to meet the increasing demands for high-power applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead research efforts in the design and development of hybrid capacitor/ Li-ion capacitor materials, cell architectures, and manufacturing processes.
  2. Conduct hands-on experimental work to characterize materials, evaluate electrochemical performance, and optimize battery performance under high rate charging and discharging conditions.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including materials scientists, engineers, and technicians to drive innovation and solve complex technical challenges.
  4. Design and execute experiments to investigate fundamental electrochemical processes, identify performance-limiting factors, and propose novel solutions to enhance battery performance.
  5. Analyse and interpret experimental data using statistical methods and computational tools to derive actionable insights and guide research direction.
  6. Stay current with the latest advancements in battery materials, cell designs, and manufacturing techniques, and integrate new knowledge into ongoing research projects.
  7. Mentor junior scientists and provide technical guidance to support their professional development and ensure the success of research projects.

Qualifications:

  1. Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on electrochemistry and battery technology.
  2. Proven track record of research excellence demonstrated by publications in top-tier scientific journals and presentations at international conferences.
  3. Extensive hands-on experience in the synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of battery materials and cells, with a particular emphasis on high-rate lithium-ion batteries or Super-Capacitor or Li-ion capacitor
  4. Proficiency in a wide range of analytical techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).
  5. Strong understanding of electrochemical principles and phenomena governing battery performance, including electrode kinetics, ion transport, and solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) formation.
  6. Experience with battery testing equipment and data analysis software for performance evaluation and degradation studies.
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome technical challenges and drive innovation in battery technology.
  8. Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, present complex technical information clearly and concisely, and write scientific papers for publication.
  9. Prior experience in mentoring junior scientists and leading research projects is desirable.
  10. A passion for sustainable energy technologies and a strong commitment to advancing the field of battery science and technology.
