Job Title: Culinary Product Development Specialist - Amadora's Test Kitchen

Position Overview:

As a Culinary Product Development Specialist at Amadora's Test Kitchen, you will play a key role in the creation and refinement of our ice cream and dessert offerings. Working closely with our culinary team, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, testing, and refining new flavors, recipes, and product formulations to meet our high standards of quality and taste.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. New Product Ideation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to brainstorm and develop innovative new product concepts and flavor profiles that align with Amadora's brand identity and market trends.
  2. Recipe Development: Lead the development of new ice cream flavors, desserts, and other frozen treats from concept to commercialization, ensuring they meet our standards for taste, texture, and quality.
  3. Ingredient Sourcing and Evaluation: Research and source high-quality ingredients, including dairy, fruits, nuts, chocolates, and flavorings, and evaluate their suitability for use in our products.
  4. Recipe Testing and Optimization: Conduct rigorous testing and iteration of recipes and formulations, incorporating feedback from internal stakeholders and consumer taste tests to refine and optimize the final products.
  5. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with our Quality Assurance team to ensure that all new products meet food safety and quality standards, conducting shelf-life studies and sensory evaluations as needed.
  6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of recipe formulations, production processes, and sensory evaluations, and provide regular progress updates and reports to management.
  7. Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive offerings, and leverage insights to inform product development decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in culinary product development, preferably in the food or beverage industry, with a focus on frozen desserts.
  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for flavor exploration and innovation.
  • Knowledge of food science principles, ingredient functionality, and recipe formulation.
  • Excellent sensory evaluation skills and the ability to discern and articulate flavor profiles and textural attributes.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional experience is a must.
