Environmental Officer

Responsibilities

1.      Carry out the day-to-day operations of the HSE department and contribute to the application of effective Health, Safety, and Environmental management by providing technical support.

2.      Daily water reading measurement. Monitoring water consumption trends. Take necessary steps if the water extractions are above the permissible limits.

3.      Set long-term and short-term water consumption reduction targets and implement steps towards achieving the goals.

4.      Knowledge regarding HSE (Environment, Health and Safety) and EMS (Environment Management System)

5.      Identification and measurement of Hazardous volatile organic gases

6.      Provide Compliance reviews, and perform general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety, and Environmental management.

7.      Handle environmental measurements like, noise, lux, Temperature, humidity, and Hazardous volatile organic Compound gases. 

8.      Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation.

9.      Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations.

10.  Prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary.

11.  Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training

12.  Conduct daily and monthly HSE Meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.

13.  Able to solve environmental problems related to water, air pollution, and waste disposal

14.  Prepare and maintain records and documentation

15.  Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

16.  Adherence to company policy and procedure.

17. Up-to-date knowledge regarding the State and National level environmental regulations.

18.  Having sound knowledge of Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) environmental laws and regulations.

19 Follow-up with GPCB’s periodical inspections and make sure the emissions are within the permissible limits.

20. Responsible for Natural resources conservation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable development initiatives related to natural resources and ecosystems.

21. Adhere to Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) guidelines and regulations related to groundwater usage.

·        NOC for Groundwater Extraction

·        CGWA Industry categorization.

·        Having sound knowledge about CGWA-regulated areas such as "Over-Exploited," "Critical," or "Semi-Critical" based on groundwater levels and usage.

·        Consent for groundwater usage.

·        Rainwater harvesting and recharge.

·        Reporting and Documentation.

·        Water conservation measures.

22. Periodical sampling and testing of Raw water, Treated water, STP inlet, and outlet samples.

23. Periodical Reporting to the management.

24. Waste management such as Plastic waste, Used PPE, Electronic waste, used oils and lubricants, glass waste, and Spent tobacco waste.

25. Offer training programs and capacity-building sessions for community members.

26. Provide support and guidance to community-led environmental initiatives such as tree planting drives, clean-up campaigns, or recycling programs. Encourage community participation in these activities.

27. Address community concerns related to environmental issues promptly and transparently.
