Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager with a strong background in the Footwear Retail Sector to oversee and optimize day-to-day operations across our retail locations.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of streamlining processes, improving operational efficiencies, and delivering exceptional customer service.
You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all store functions, from inventory management to staff performance, all while aligning with the company's strategic goals and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Retail Operations Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of retail stores, ensuring that business goals and performance targets are consistently met.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to increase sales, improve profitability, and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that retail locations are fully stocked, with inventory managed effectively and in accordance with company standards.
- Work closely with store managers to ensure operational processes are followed and optimized for efficiency.
2. Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of retail managers and staff, fostering a positive, productive work environment.
- Implement training programs to enhance product knowledge, customer service skills, and operational procedures.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, setting clear goals and providing feedback for staff development.
- Promote teamwork and cooperation across all levels of the organization.
3. Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate retail processes and identify areas for improvement in efficiency and customer experience.
- Introduce and implement new tools, technologies, or methods to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to assess performance and make data-driven decisions.
4. Customer Experience Management:
- Ensure an outstanding customer experience through high standards in service quality, store presentation, and product availability.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints in a timely, professional manner.
- Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to drive promotions, loyalty programs, and customer engagement initiatives.
5. Budget & Financial Management:
- Manage and control store budgets, ensuring that all operational expenses are within established limits.
- Review financial reports and take necessary actions to improve cost management and profitability.
- Ensure the adherence to company policies and guidelines related to financial controls, security, and operational compliance.
6. Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure all retail locations comply with health and safety regulations, as well as other legal and company standards.
- Implement and enforce security and loss prevention policies.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness, and operational standards.
7. Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare regular reports on operational performance, financial performance, and key challenges for senior management.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including store teams, senior management, and external partners.
8. Coordination with Brand:
Act as the single point of contact between the store team and brand. Ensure all store-related concerns, including merchandising or operational updates, are directed to you, not directly to the brand. Build and maintain strong relationships with the brand team to address and resolve issues efficiently.
9. Vendor Management:
Oversee and manage vendor relationships for supplies, maintenance, and services. Ensure timely delivery of goods and services by coordinating effectively with vendors and addressing any issues promptly.
10. Maintenance and Repairs Oversight:
Conduct regular inspections of the store to identify maintenance or repair needs. Coordinate with vendors or service providers for timely repairs, ensuring the store is always in excellent condition.
11. Store Operations Management:
Organize daily operations, assign responsibilities, and ensure smooth functioning of the store. Resolve operational issues and ensure the team follows established processes.
12. Team Supervision and Communication:
Guide and support store staff to achieve maximum efficiency. Foster a clear communication hierarchy where store teams approach you with concerns that involve brand representatives or vendors.
13. Merchandising Coordination:
Manage store merchandising requirements. Collaborate with brand representatives to ensure displays align with brand guidelines and address merchandising issues proactively.
14. Budget Management:
Monitor and control expenditures for maintenance, repairs, and merchandising needs. Obtain quotations, secure approvals from the CFO, and ensure all financial processes are followed efficiently.
15. Stakeholder Communication:
Maintain clear and effective communication with the CFO, vendors, brand representatives, and internal teams. Align stakeholders on operational needs and strategies to ensure smooth coordination.
16. Excel Proficiency:
Use advanced Excel skills for managing data, tracking budgets, and reporting on store performance. Leverage data insights to make informed operational decisions.
17. Relationship Building:
Establish strong professional relationships with vendors, brand representatives, and internal teams to ensure seamless operations and mutual understanding.
